06/2022 The entrance hall of the Sao Bento Train station in Porto is a real highlight. As a commuter, I would like to take the train here for that reason alone. The station opened in 1916 and stands on the site of a former monastery that was demolished to make room for a new station. The works of art made up of almost 20,000 tiles were designed by the artist Jorge Colaco. More in our travel video about Porto and the Douro Valley, see link below.
